Hi! Handley here.. as 2019 closes, I figured this was a blog that needed my own personal attention. I simply cannot believe that Handley Breaux Designs turned 5 years old this year! This year has been so busy for us taking us to locations we have not yet been opening new doors along the way. It has been a year of growth, learning, sacrifice, change…all to make us a better company and most importantly a better team. The past calendar year has been one of the most trying for me in my personal life. It has been a year that pushed me to my limits only to make me rely more on my faith in God and to put all of my trust in Him that He will guide me in the right direction. Every year when HBD makes it another year, I think about how thankful I am. One of my favorite Bible verses, it actually sits framed on my desk for a daily reminder, is Luke 1:45 — “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord will fulfill his promises to her.” This has been my favorite verse for a very long time, and it truly has carried me through all seasons of life. When the HBD 5 year landmark was approaching..honestly I thought about letting it come and go. I consulted my team and family and friends, and we all agreed that this milestone was one that deserved a celebration — in true HBD style of course! Fortunately working in this business I have some really great vendor friends to call on, and they helped me pull it off. I wanted something FUN and festive — unlike any wedding. I have such a crush on SHOPPE in Forest Park and just adore the owners Mark & Jay so much. I knew I wanted to have a garden party that felt whimsical and playful. I worked with the girls at Weezie B Designs to create the invitation suite. They were very patient with me! Having seen just about everything, I was very specific in my vision and they were very accommodating with all of my changes. What we came up with was a mixture of woodland creatures and garden party perfection! I wanted the guests to see the invitation and immediately feel the JOY that I was feeling about turning five. And what brings more joy that playful furry creatures? I just wanted guests to remember why we have parties — to have fun! Shouldn’t be stiff!
Anywho, the night came and the weather was simply perfect. Guests from all over mixed and mingled and enjoyed bites from Hastings Catering and custom cocktails created by my bestie bartender Stacey Chappell. It truly was perfect and was such a privilege for me to wine and dine all of my clients, friends and family who have supported Handley Breaux Designs and me, the woman behind it all, for the last five years.
