Happy Monday everyone! Spring is here and the weather could not be more beautiful! Today, we share with you the inaugural blog post from our summer intern Margy. Margy will be making guest blog appearances over the next few months. We hope you give her a warm welcome! We are so excited to have her!
Congratulations---your honeymoon is HERE! After months and months of planning your perfect day, you may have overlooked your packing list for your vacation! Wherever you decide to go, it should be relaxing and an experience you each enjoy.
One of the hardest parts of planning your honeymoon is deciding where to go. There are so many options to choose from—all-inclusive, house rental, resort, backpacking across Europe…the list goes on! Some desirable destinations include the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, United States resorts, or a cruise. You could go anywhere in the world! If you choose to go out of the country, remember you will need a passport and some countries require certain vaccinations. Do not forget to check if your passport is expired and allow four to six weeks to obtain a new one.
When booking your trip, either online or with a travel agent, remember to make all of your reservations in your maiden name. You will not have your new documents in time with your new name, if you plan on leaving right after the wedding. Also, I strongly consider buying travel insurance. Nothing is predictable and you want to make sure you can get money back if the trip has to be changed or cancelled.
Make sure to pack a week ahead, not last minute! Here are a few last minute things that you cannot forget to pack:
- Airline tickets
- Passport & driver’s license (and photocopies of each)
- Credit Cards
- Traveler’s checks
- Camera
- Bathing suits
- Evening attire
- Medicines
- Sunglasses
- Comfortable shoes
- Aloe for you fair skinned folks
- ID for luggage
- Electrical converter
In the office, we are suffering major spring fever, so we decided to highlight what to pack on a tropical honeymoon. We love the Turkish towels with your new monogram on them!
After you pack, do not forget to confirm your reservations a week before you leave. This is crucial! When it is finally time to leave, remember to relax and have fun. Most importantly, be sure to make everlasting memories and cherish every moment!
