Let's be honest... 80% of weddings are about the bride. How beautiful she is, how unique her dress is, how her personal style is reflected in the decor... Well beside every one of those brides and her bridesmaids is a group of guys that don't get enough time in the spotlight. So today, here's to the men! Guys, we so appreciate you getting all dressed up, having a good attitude about hours of photos, wearing flowers on your lapels, and sometimes missing that big football game. Wedding receptions wouldn't be what they are without your fun-loving antics.

Fall is my favorite time of year. The crisp air, the golden leaves, the clothes...everything about it. Needless to say, Fall weddings are some of my favorites too! Kaitlyn & Johnny were married October 10 in front of family and friends at Windwood Equestrian. We used a color palette of deep jewel tones throughout the whole day, and it came together beautifully. I feel like I say this about all of my brides, but Kaitlyn was beaming with joy. The couple chose not to do a first look (which I love!), and the look on Johnny's face when Kaitlyn came down the aisle was unforgettable. We were truly honored to be a part of such a special day for two amazing people!

People talk about towns where you go home and everyone from the checkout lady at the grocery store to the local police officer knows that you're back by the time you pull in your driveway. Enterprise, Alabama is one of those places. And on September 11 the entire town celebrated their sweetheart Katherine and her marriage to David. Katherine's wedding was a classic southern affair in every aspect of the term. Her mother worked diligently with me to give Katherine the wedding of her dreams. When the day finally came, every face was a happy face and every heart was filled with joy for the newlyweds.

The 2015 Antiques at the Gardens was a huge success! Thank you to each person who came to the show and supported the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, we appreciate it! The 'Art of the Rose' floral tastemaker hallway was really a welcomed addition to the show. The installations were up from Thursday to Sunday -- only a few roses wilted!
I personally want to thank each tastemaker for their participation in the event. Each installation was incredible! Throughout the show, we had voting open for the People's Choice award and drumroll please.....Mark Thompson & Jay Draper are the winners! They brought to live a Gustav Klimt painting and it was just spectacular.

Last week I collaborated with some fantastic vendors for a styled photo shoot. Styled photo shoots are a time for me to really get creative. I love them! Every idea that I have that a bride doesn't go for, goes into a folder for future reference. So sometimes, those ideas get to come to life in photo shoots!

What an incredibly beautiful bride Katie was! In Alabama, our summer weather is finicky, and when inclement weather threatened, Katie didn't even panic. She was a cool, calm, and collected bride all day long. We lucked out with a somewhat cool overcast afternoon that was perfect for pictures, and just enough rain for good luck later in the day. With a traditional color palette of pale pinks, creams, and greens...this was the epitome of a beautiful southern wedding!
I have known Katie for quite some time actually. She and I went to middle school and high school together, and her mom taught at the high school. So planning this wedding with them was a very welcomed reunion!
If you were to ask a group of people that knew Katie & Edward to tell you about them, I'm pretty positive that every person would have a similar response. They are some of the kindest people you will meet and so much fun. Usually at rehearsal dinners, I listen to a series of funny college stories followed by a few of the couple's parents' friends sharing some childhood stories. But for Katie & Edward, the toasts were all a perfect mix of funny stories and meaningful stories. Each toast included how much every person in that room truly loved them and admired their love for each other. And that, my friends, carried on right into the wedding day. Katie & Edward and their bridal party were the most fun, kind, and thoughtful group of people! They danced right into the night and it was surely an unforgettable night!
