It was a warm Alabama summer evening and the sun was dipping right behind the trees. That magical "golden hour" that all event professionals long for was upon us as guests were enjoying a cocktail hour. Kaitlin was about to walk down the aisle to the love of her life Will, and the excitement was palpable.
Kaitlin and Will met in college at Auburn University and have been inseparable ever since. My favorite part of getting to know my clients is hearing their love story. So we talked to Kaitlin and she filled us in!
Handley: How did y'all meet?
Kaitlin: We were set up on a blind date to an Auburn Football game by one of my family friends who happened to be Will's fraternity brother! We met the Friday night before, and we went party hopping together with some of our friends. We had a good time! We were both looking forward to our "game date" the next day! It was the second game my freshman year, and all I can say is it went very well. I now have my forever Gameday date!
Kaitlin wore her mother's dress for her special day. This wedding was all about the family moments!
Handley: When did you know that Will was "the one"?
Kaitlin: I don't ever remember there being an exact moment when I knew Will was the one. I think it was a collaboration of years and moments that made me know. I do remember telling my parents the end of my sophomore year I was pretty positive Will was the one! So, I knew pretty early on in our relationship.
Handley: What were your favorite parts of the wedding day?
Kaitlin: Favorite parts of the day... When I walked down the aisle and saw Will's face I was overwhelmed with excitement! Obviously being pronounced man and wife was probably the best!! Then dancing all night at the reception was very memorable, and we won't forget how much fun we had. One things that most people don't get to do is have both sets of parents dance alongside of you celebrating their anniversaries which was a special moment to me.
Both Kaitlin & Will's parents were married the same weekend. So, during the first dance, there was a moment for both sets of parents to come up and dance alongside them. It was such a special moment!
Kaitlin & Will's reception photos were so amazing, they deserve a post all their own. Check back next week for more
