Handley Breaux Designs | Style Series with Styled by Mg: Virtual wedding shower

For my last Style Series blog, I am going to be covering what to wear for a virtual wedding shower. Since it doesn't look like social-distancing standards will be slowing down anytime soon, I wanted to be sure and offer some style advice for any Zoom wedding festivities!

I want to start off by noting that I know virtual bridal showers are not the ideal scenario of any bride's dreams! But as we roll with the times, it certainly is the new normal and I have seen SO many brides already take this virtual trend and make it their own. Though you'll be embracing guests with air hugs, it does not mean that you can’t still wear the bridal shower dress that you have been dreaming about wearing! A theme or not, a bridal shower in my opinion is a great way to have fun with your wedding festivity looks -- especially a virtual shower!

It also is one way to maintain a sense of normalcy and feel that bride-to-be excitement you should be feeling. All of that being said, why not select something that makes you feel your absolute best and brings out your personality for your virtual wedding shower? There will still be plenty of photos via both group snap shots and at-home photos which will make a stylish look incredibly necessary in my opinion!

Some things to consider when shopping for your virtual wedding shower outfit:

  1. The neckline: make sure the neckline of the outfit you pick out is the most flattering piece of the look. This is what everyone will be looking at so make it shine!

  2. Color: if you don’t want to do classic bridal white then be sure the color you pick is something that compliments your skin tone and is a color that will pop over a computer screen. AKA - do not do neutrals or loud prints.

  3. Simple accessories: though accessories are always a must in my book, I do think they need to be simplified for a virtual shower. Since your guest are only going to be seeing the top part of your outfit, you do not want to make it look too busy by adding loud accessories.

To help motivate and inspire you, I have found a ton of gorgeous outfits that will hopefully have you looking and feeling your bridal best – cheers to that!
