Handley Breaux Designs | Style Series with Styled by MG: Bachelorette Trip

Hi everyone! It’s me again, Styled by M.G! For the next part of our Style Series I am going to be covering what to wear on your bachelorette trip. I have really been looking forward to this one because I had the best time finding outfits for my own bachelorette trip last year. But before I share some outfit ideas and tips to consider while shopping I wanted to share a funny little story about my own bachelorette trip.

SO similar story to how COVID has prevented many brides from going to their originally planned location, well, I had a little hiccup in my plans as well. I was supposed to be going to Miami over Labor Day weekend of last year with my 14 bridesmaids and instead of a pandemic breaking out, we had to deal with mother nature. Three days before we were supposed to fly out, Hurricane Dorian was headed directly towards Miami Beach so we made the last minute and responsible decision to reroute our trip! For the most part, all of my bridesmaids live in major hub cities so we needed to go somewhere that was a direct flight and easy for everyone to get to. With two of my bridesmaids living in Dallas we all decided to go to Texas for my Bachelorette trip and we could not have had a better time together! Of course a lot of our outfits went more with the Miami Beach vibe but we all stuck together and wore them anyways and didn’t let Hurricane Dorian stop us from having fun! SO, my advice to you if you have had to alter plans for a Bachelorette Trip is to not let the change of plans stop your group from having a good time --- enjoy each other's company and still dress the part of where you originally were supposed to go!

Now to the fun part...what to wear! No matter where you and your group are going, I think most brides can stick to this outfit “schedule” I put together.

Night 1: White Night

This is the night that you, the bride, needs to shine and wear white! The first night is when everyone is going to be feeling good (not hungover) and ready to have a good time, so let this be the night you are most celebrated!

Day 2 - Water Day

As most bachelorette parties are going somewhere sunny during this time of year, it’s fun to have a coordinating bathing suit day. For the bride, I recommend wearing an all white swimsuit so you stand out! It could be fun for your bridal party to incorporate some cheap heart, star, or colored sunglasses as well.

Night 2 - Color Night

Now that you (the bride), have had your chance to wear white plenty of times, the second night is your chance to tone it down a bit but still wear a fun and colorful outfit! Make this the outfit that fits your personality and what you have planned for the night. If you are going to a bar after dinner maybe wear a fun dress or skirt set but if you guys are just having a nice dinner and wine night then a pretty maxi dress might fit the night better.
