Handley Breaux Designs | Kelsey & Stewart

There really is something special about working with a couple who you've had the privilege of knowing since elementary school! It was such a special occasion being able to celebrate their marriage among guests who I knew personally. Kelsey had a very specific vision and wonderful taste, so the wedding style came together seamlessly. It was also very important that the day reflect both of their interests and we did just that! Be sure to check out Stewart's awesome groom's cake made to look like his favorite books!

We followed up with Kelsey after her wedding day to see what some of her favorite parts of the day were.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

Kelsey: If I had to pick one moment, I would have to say when Stewart and I did our first look. It was perfect to see him for the first time in my wedding dress and it be essentially just the two of us. It made the moment feel really special and just for the two of us.

How did you and Stewart start dating?

Kelsey:  Stewart and I have known of each other for a long time, technically since pre-school, and graduated from high school in the same class. However, we never actually met until later in college. We first really met on a Southwest flight up to Chicago where my family lived at the time. Stewart was on a flight out to Colorado to go skiing.  I have a horrible fear of flying, so I decided to sit next to him and he kept me sane for the two-hour flight. Of course, he didn’t ask me out on a date until almost a year later when we reconnected at a party.

What was your favorite part of working with Handley Breaux Designs?

Kelsey:  The best part of working with Handley Breaux Designs was the ease I felt knowing that Handley was there every step of the way to take care of everything on our big day.  That allowed Stewart and I to relax and really enjoy ourselves without having to worry about the little things.  Handley was not only able to help me communicate my vision with all my vendors, but she made sure that everything looked and felt beautiful. Her entire team was also amazing on our actual wedding day and incredibly dependable. They all provided a peace of mind that allowed us to truly be in the moment and have fun.
