Cheers: Tips for Throwing the Perfect Oscar's Viewing Party

It's award season, y'all! Now, I love awards season. I love the gowns, the jewels, the outlandish speeches, seeing who wins --- the whole thing! I tend to turn my Sundays watching these shows into marathon events. There's the pre-pre-red carpet show. Then the pre-red carpet show. The actual red carpet...the show. And if you're really into the show, you have to hang on to the bitter end to see if Leonardo DiCaprio will actually win an Oscar this year. All in all we're talking like an eight hour span of me glued to the television. Some may call this a lazy use of a Sunday.... I embrace it!

Of all of the awards shows, the Oscar's is the biggest night! It is the perfect night to host a viewing party with your friends. My friends and I love watching the red carpet together! Today, I have some tips for throwing the perfect Oscar's viewing party!

Set the tone with the decor! Black, gold, and old Hollywood glam is always suitable for an Oscar's party! These large balloons with festive sayings are the perfect touch.

I love to search through Etsy when I need themed items. It is full of so many good options -- like these cute cups! And you always need popcorn when watching tv!

I love a little DIY! All you need for these Tuxedo Flutes is: gold paint, black ribbon, champagne flutes, festive straws. Once you paint the base of the flute, tie on the "bow tie" and finish off with the straw and voila!

No party is complete without a fun photo booth! I found these props on Etsy as well.

Many bakeries will offer Oscar shaped cookies this time of year or upon request. If you can't find any or are looking for a project, Oscar shaped cookie cutters are available at most craft stores or online. This is a great way to get the kids involved too!

We can't wait for Sunday! Comment below your favorite Oscar Sunday memories!
