Our team is growing! This Fall we welcomed Hannah Harris to our team. Hannah is a student at Samford University and loves all things weddings. So she’s a perfect fit for us! With her extreme eye to detail and creativity, she is a breath of fresh air, and our brides have loved getting to know her. Next time you are in our office be sure to tell her hello!

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

I have been planning my wedding since I was 14, which consists of watching thousands of wedding videos, and I tear up every time a groom sees his bride for the first time, at the first look or ceremony. The day is truly only about them, even though there is so much going on. The groom’s reaction is by far the sweetest moment.

What is your favorite wedding trend?

The first look. It isn’t everyone’s favorite thing since it isn’t truly traditional, but it offers such a special moment alway from all the chaos. It also makes for great photos and raw emotion. Especially if a couple is more introverted, since they get to be alone with each other just to talk and breathe before all eyes are on them.

What is your dream vacation?

I went to Italy with my dad when I graduated high school, and it still goes down as the best trip of all time. Spending time with my dad is so special, and in ITALY?! Yes and amen to that! My dream vacation would be that same trip over again (but maybe a little longer!). I am also going to Israel through my school in January, and that has been a dream of mine for so long. I cannot wait to see where Jesus walked, and stand in the Garden of Gethsemane.

What is your dream job?

Planning weddings, hands down. I’m very type-A so I love the planning process, and I love people. But the best part is that it is a celebration of love, and I LOVE love.

My second dream job would be to blog full-time and travel! I love to write, and I just started a little photography business, so to take both of those full-time and make the focus travel and lifestyle would be a total dream.

I’m majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications, so I have also started to love graphic design and advertising. We’ll see, I guess!

What is your favorite food, Netflix show, and book?

My favorite food is bread, honest to goodness. With oil and vinegar, honey, garlic, cheese…you name it. Bread for the table? 100%. My mom makes homemade sour dough bread every week at home, so I’ve been spoiled. My favorite Netflix show by far is New Girl, and my all time favorite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to take photos, eat really good food, spend time with the people I adore, workout, or go on a long drive to great music with windows down.

Who would you your celebrity BFF and why?

Julia Engle. She writes the blog Gal Meets Glam. I love her style, attention to detail, and I love that she’s a total girl boss. She just launched a dress line and travels all over the world to take photos for the season releases. #goals.

What is your favorite part of working for Handley Breaux Designs?

I love working with Handley, Maggie, and Clay! I love the environment, not too high strung, not too laid back. It’s a “lets get things done but have fun while doing it” kind of attitude. I also LOVE sitting in on meetings with brides. I get so excited listening to them talk about their day. I also think it’s fun when the groom comes along. Hearing the things that matter to them is really fun.
